Four Blogs That I Love

I think that Anything Said is one of the funniest blogs in the 'sphere. She doesn't post too terribly often, but her posts are always worth the wait. She writes seemingly effortlessly about motherhood, her pug, being a librarian, whatever...It doesn't matter. It's always a good read. My favorite posts include both the pug and the baby.

I have almost nothing in common with Becky. She is a libertarian lesbian Catholic. I am a communitarian heterosexual non Catholic and registered Democrat and Michael Moore fan, too. But we don't all have to agree with each other in order to be buddies and enjoy each other's writing, do we? She is smart, she writes well...she just comes to different conclusions than I do. She also includes helpful product reviews in her blog from time to time. Her blog has to be THE quirkiest blog in the 'sphere. And there is almost always something new to read there. Don't forget to read her comments for the amusing, spelling impaired, pissed off straight guy comments. Check her out.

Suzanne Reisman at CUSS and Other Rants is a daily read. I LOVE Suzanne. She sent me stickers. CUSS stands for Campaign for Unshaved Snatch. Her logo is the cutest little picture you'd ever want to see of a beaver and a pussy(cat) hugging. My first contact with S was when she ridiculed (but politely linked to) my post, Trimming the Hedges. I was kind of scared. I thought she was an angry feminist and that I had made an enemy. (I am also a bit of an angry feminist, but that doesn't mean that I'm too stupid to be afraid of other angry feminists.) But Suzanne is good-natured, often funny, frequently insightful. She is also a very reliable blogger. Your Insight Is Killing Me is a good first Suzanne read.

I don't care how obvious a choice this is. I love Dooce. I will admit to being on the fence concerning the whole "making your child a blogebrity" issue. But, again, I don't have to agree with everything you say and do in order to enjoy your blog. Heather has better than average range for a blogger. She can hit the high notes of comedy without completely ignoring the fact that life isn't always funny. Sure, she still refers to her child's age in months in her newsletters...but (this is a secret, don't tell, k?) sometimes those newsletters make me cry. And then there are the Chuck pictures. Sometimes, when I'm looking at my sitemeter, I see that someone has visited my blog from Salt Lake City...and I fantasize that Heather is reading me...

hahaha Dooce is a guilty pleasure for me, too. I go back and forth between cracking up at her posts, being insanely jealous that she gets to stay home with her husband all day, and then annoyed that she is famous for not really all that much. But it's such a good read most of the time. And I love Chuck photos. The ones from Halloween (Yoda, Darth Vader, Princess Leia) were the best ever.

Thanks for the kind words and link love! It's funny because when I linked to you, I don't even think that I was criticizing you at all as much as some attitudes out there about female pubic hair, so I am glad that I didn't accidentally completely alienate you. As you know, I adore you, too.
